secrets is an app for changing hidden settings in os X. I found this the other day while bored, and I was able to change some things that where bugging me… and some I never thought of. The reason I was looking to change settings was the fact that itunes 8 no longer allows you to hide the genre of music while browsing. Now fixed
Another thing I found was the ability to change the dock to a 2d version.. which, in my opinion looks better than the 3d shelf.
2d dock
There are many other settings to change.. and, as of now, I have not fully gone through them.

The 2D version is the normal one you get when you have the dock on the side of the screen rather than the bottom (anyone _not_ have a widescreen monitor these days?).
I’ve used TinkerTool since Cheetah – doesn’t have as many options, but won’t allow you to break your OS either. (After checking, it also has that iTunes 8 mod.)
